Outdoor vs. Indoor WPC Boards: What’s the Difference?
Outdoor Wall Board
Co-Extrusion WPC wall panel is a new type of composite decking made of composite material and coated with super-performance polymer material.
Compared to traditional WPC products, Co-extrusion WPC provides multiple colours onto the surface to create a wood-like texture. The thickness of the outer layer is crucial to product quality.

Indoor Wall Board
Solid Foamed WPC

Wall Panels (0.6 Density)
A significant portion of the interior wall panel market consists of solid foamed WPC boards with a density around 0.6 g/cm³, typically in thicknesses of 8-12mm. These panels are engineered for easy installation over existing walls like drywall or plaster.
Primary Applications: These panels are extensively used for accent walls, full-room cladding, and wainscoting in living rooms, bedrooms, and commercial spaces. They offer excellent heat insulation and sound absorption.

Flooring (0.8 Density)
For floor applications, a higher density grade of around 0.8 g/cm³ is used. This increased density provides the necessary compressive strength, impact resistance, and dimensional stability to withstand foot traffic
Primary Applications: Ideal for kitchens, bathrooms, basements, and commercial areas where moisture and durability are primary concerns. While not as rigid as SPC (Stone Plastic Composite) flooring, the WPC core offers a slightly softer, warmer feel underfoot, making it comfortable for long periods of standing.

Hollow WPC
Hollow WPC is an extremely versatile category of interior decoration materials. Its internal hollow structure makes it lightweight, quick to install, and cost-effective. Based on cavity size and appearance, it can be further divided into two subcategories: Small-Hollow (PVC Ceiling Panels) and Large-Hollow (Great Wall Panels) .
PVC Ceiling Panels

Their internal structure consists of dense, fine honeycomb or grid-like cavities, with compact construction and relatively thin walls.
-
Structural Features: Fine-grid hollow core; the panels are lightweight and thin, with good flexibility.
-
Primary Applications: Widely used for bathroom ceilings, kitchen ceilings, balcony ceilings, and partial wall cladding. Thanks to their lightweight nature, moisture resistance, and easy cleaning, they are the classic choice for kitchens and bathrooms.
Great Wall Panels
Their internal structure adopts large through-cavities, with thicker cavity walls and reinforced ribs, providing significantly higher structural strength than small-hollow panels.
-
Structural Features: Large cavities with thicker walls; higher rigidity and excellent bending resistance, ensuring minimal deformation even over longer spans.
-
Primary Applications: Mainly used for interior wall decoration and decorative ceiling designs, especially suitable for living room accent walls, bedroom headboard walls, restaurant column cladding, and office partitions where a three-dimensional effect and aesthetic design are desired.
