Production process of Engineered Wood Flooring
Production process of Engineered Wood Flooring
1.Log Preparation
Wood Selection & Cutting: Logs like poplar, pine, birch are selected and cut to specific lengths.
Debarking and Drying: Remove the bark and dry the wood to facilitate subsequent processing.

2.Veneer Preparation
Rotary/Knife Cutting: Logs are sliced into veneers using rotary or knife-cut machines.
Drying: Veneers are dried to 8%–12% moisture content.

3.Gluing & Lay-Up
Adhesive Application: Glue is evenly spread on veneers.
Lay-Up: Veneers are stacked with alternating grain directions for dimensional stability.

4.Hot Pressing
Cold Pressing: Preliminary pressing to expel air.
Hot Pressing: Final bonding under high temperature and pressure.

5.Post Processing
Cooling & Stabilizing: Natural or forced cooling.
Edge Trimming & Sanding: Boards trimmed to size and sanded.
Repair & Inspection: Defects are repaired, followed by strength and moisture checks.

6.Board Processing Steps
Substrate and Veneer Pressing: Veneer bonded to core material.

Multiple Rip Saw Cutting: Cut into strips

Thickness Sanding: Sanded for thickness uniformity.

Four-Side Planing & Grooving: Grooving all four sides; short-edge grooving for herringbone pattern

Grain Brushing (if required): Brushing the surface to enhance wood grain texture.
